May 8/9 Autocross at ABC Auto Auction 

The 2010 Furrin Season is upon us.  The first autocross of the year is at ABC Auto Auction:

I just wanted to start a thread to get the excitement building.

I have a new car for this season.  As competitve as the minivan was  I am going a lot smaller but staying in H Stock.  I was given a 1987 Volkswagen Cabriolet that needs work (my first European furrin car).  I am still pecking away on it and hope to have it in racing shape by the first event.  If I keep the shiny side up it will be a successful start.

What are everyone's plans for the event and the season?

Awfully quiet in here....

I'm the guy in the black Evo. Im a Detroit SCCA guy, but I'll definitely be at the ABC Auto Auction event on Saturday, and maybe Sunday too.

I spent all last season autocrossing on the stock suspension on street tires. I made the switch to coilovers over the winter and I'm looking to eventually build a competitive STU car. I made it down to an EvoSchool (www.evoschool.com) last weekend and picked up lots of seat time and quality instruction. If anyone is really looking to go faster, I can highly recommend it.

I can't wait for the first event!

Yes, very quiet... and dark and lonely.  This site does not get many posts but I was hoping people would be chatty about autocrossing again.

Good to have you at the event Eric.  Who were your instructors for the event?  The EVO schools are great for anyone, no matter experience.

Were you running A Stock in DetSCCA?  I ran over there a couple of years ago and one of my friends, that used to run RX-7s, ran AS in a Blue Evo.

Thanks Jeff. I'll be sure and find you at the first event. DRSCCA runs street tire stock classes, so I spent all last year in TAS. I made it out to most of the Furrin Group events as well (and lots of other groups too).

The EvoSchool was a pretty large group with ~30 students and 5 instructors. Mike Johnson was there, but he was never in the car with me. I spent most of my time with Mark Pilson and Robert Carpenter. Brian Flanagan and Haywerd Wagner were there too. They were all excellent.
